Angle steel refers to steel with two sides intersecting at a certain angle (usually 90 degrees). It is commonly used in construction, bridges, machinery, steel structures and other fields. There are mainly the following ways to classify angle steel:
1. Classification by material
Carbon steel angle steel: Carbon steel is used as raw material and is commonly used in general construction and structural engineering.
Stainless steel angle steel: Made of stainless steel, it has strong corrosion resistance and is suitable for environments with high corrosion requirements.
Alloy steel angle steel: It is alloyed with carbon steel and other elements (such as chromium, molybdenum, nickel, etc.) and has higher strength, corrosion resistance and high temperature resistance.
2. Classification by side length
Equal-sided angle steel: The two sides are equal in length, forming an equilateral right triangle.
Unequal-sided angle steel: The two sides are unequal in length, forming an unequal right triangle.
3. Classification by surface treatment
Hot-rolled angle steel: Produced by hot rolling process, usually with a rough surface.
Cold-rolled angle steel: After cold rolling process, the surface is smoother and the dimensional accuracy is higher.
Galvanized angle steel: The surface is galvanized, with good corrosion resistance, and is often used in outdoor environments.
Plastic-sprayed angle steel: The surface is coated with plastic coating, which has strong corrosion resistance and aesthetics.
4. Classification by size
Small angle steel: The side length is generally less than or equal to 50mm.
Large angle steel: The side length is greater than 50mm.
5. Classification by use
Architectural angle steel: Used for connectors and supporting structures in building structures.
Mechanical angle steel: Used for support, connection and other parts in mechanical equipment.
Bridge angle steel: Used for supporting parts in bridge structures.
6. Classification by standard
National standard angle steel (GB): Angle steel produced in accordance with Chinese national standards (GB/T 9787-88).
American standard angle steel (ASTM): Angle steel produced in accordance with American standards (ASTM A36/A36M).
European standard angle steel (EN): Angle steel produced in accordance with European standards (EN 10056).
These classification methods help to select the appropriate type of angle steel to meet different engineering needs.
