1. Galvanizing layer thickness
Hot-dip galvanized steel pipe: The galvanizing layer is thicker and generally has strong anti-corrosion ability, suitable for outdoor and humid environments. The galvanized layer is uniform and has strong adhesion.
Electro-galvanized steel pipe: The galvanizing layer is relatively thin and has weak anti-corrosion ability. It is mostly used in dry indoor environments or places with low anti-corrosion requirements.
When choosing, check the thickness of the galvanized layer. The thicker the thickness, the better the anti-corrosion performance.
2. Material quality
The steel pipe substrate should have sufficient mechanical properties, such as tensile strength and yield strength.
Check whether the surface of the steel pipe is smooth and flat, without obvious cracks, burrs, rust spots and other defects.
3. Standards and certifications
Galvanized steel pipes produced by regular manufacturers usually come with product certificates or test reports.
4. Anti-corrosion performance
If the galvanized steel pipe is used in a corrosive environment, it is important to choose a steel pipe with stronger anti-corrosion performance. Different galvanizing processes can be selected according to different uses.
5. Application
Water supply and gas supply pipelines: steel pipes with moderate wall thickness should be selected to ensure that the pressure and corrosion requirements meet the standards.
Structural applications such as building supports and railings: galvanized steel pipes with good wear resistance and high strength should be selected.
Agricultural or light industrial applications: steel pipes with lower prices and thinner walls can be selected, but durability still needs to be considered.
6. Appearance quality
The surface of the galvanized steel pipe should have a uniform silver-white galvanized layer with consistent color and no defects such as blistering, shedding, and cracks.
The adhesion of the galvanized layer is very important. When testing, you can gently tap the pipe wall or wipe it with your fingers to confirm whether the galvanized layer is easy to fall off.
7. Dimensional accuracy
Confirm whether the outer diameter, wall thickness and length of the steel pipe meet the design requirements, and the error should be within the standard range.
