Copper Bar Classification:
By Material Composition:
1. Pure Copper Bars: Containing ≥99.95% copper, with excellent electrical and thermal conductivity. Subdivided into ordinary pure copper (T1-T4), oxygen-free copper (TU1/TU2), deoxidized copper (TUP), and special coppers (such as silver copper and tellurium copper).
2. Brass Bars: Copper-zinc alloy. Brass is divided into two categories: ordinary brass (Cu-Zn only, such as H59 and H62) and special brass (with added lead, tin, aluminum, etc., such as leaded brass HPb59-1 and tin brass HSn70-1). The latter has stronger wear resistance or corrosion resistance.
3. Bronze Rods: Copper alloys excluding zinc and nickel. Common types include tin bronze (QSn, wear and corrosion resistant), aluminum bronze (QAl, high strength), and beryllium bronze (QBe, high elasticity).
4. Cupronickel Rods: Copper-nickel alloys (such as B5 and B19), with variations containing zinc, manganese, etc. They possess excellent seawater corrosion resistance and moderate strength, and are commonly used in shipbuilding and precision instruments.
By Manufacturing Process:
1. Extruded Copper bars: Manufactured through an extrusion process, with a dense internal structure, no porosity, high tensile strength, and good straightness, suitable for precision parts (such as automotive parts and medical components).
2. Continuously Cast Bars: Manufactured through continuous casting (upward casting, horizontal casting, etc.), they are less expensive, but may contain micropores or impurities, resulting in slightly lower performance than extruded bars.
3. Drawn Bars: Further drawn from extruded or continuously cast billets, resulting in higher dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
By Shape:
1. Round Copper Bars: The most common shape, available in various diameters.
2. Special Shaped Copper Bars:: Including hexagonal bars (commonly used for nuts and bolts), square/flat bars, elliptical bars, and patterned (wire-patterned) bars.
Applications of Copper Bars:
1. Pure Copper Bars: Second only to silver in electrical and thermal conductivity, corrosion resistant, mainly used in the electrical industry, refrigeration equipment, and heat exchangers.
2. Brass Bars (Copper-Zinc Alloy): Contains approximately 56%-68% copper, yellow in color. High strength, wear-resistant, and relatively inexpensive, widely used in plumbing and sanitary ware, valves, automotive synchronizer gear rings, and hardware parts.
3. Bronze/Clad Copper Rods: Containing elements such as tin, aluminum, and nickel. Possesses special properties (e.g., anti-magnetic, seawater corrosion resistance), used in precision instrument springs, marine components, and high-end structural parts.
4. Power Electronics: Grounding rods, welding electrodes, connectors, conductive springs.
5. Machinery Manufacturing: Lathe-machined parts, bolts and nuts, wear-resistant bushings.
6. Civil Construction: Water pipe fittings, air conditioning ducts, bathroom hardware.
