Air Conditioning Aluminum Pipe
Air Conditioning Aluminum Pipes are hollow metal tubes made from pure aluminum or aluminum alloys through extrusion processing. They are primarily used in refrigerant transport and heat exchange stages (such as evaporators and condensers) in air conditioning systems.
Air Conditioning Aluminum Pipes typically use 3xxx, 5xxx, or 6xxx series aluminum alloys, formed through hot extrusion. They are available in seamless aluminum tubes and ordinary extruded tubes. These include round tubes, square tubes, and microchannel aluminum flat tubes (containing multiple microchannels internally, with a wall thickness typically less than 0.2mm) used in heat exchangers.

These include round tubes, aluminum square tubes, and microchannel aluminum flat tubes (containing multiple microchannels internally, with a wall thickness typically less than 0.2mm) used in heat exchangers.
Characteristics of Air Conditioning Aluminum Pipes:
Air Conditioning Aluminum Pipes are primarily used as a cost-reduction solution by replacing copper with aluminum. Their core characteristics are low cost and light weight, but they are significantly weaker than Air Conditioning Copper Tubes in terms of corrosion resistance, pressure resistance, and long-term reliability.
1. Low Cost: Aluminum costs approximately one-third the price of copper and has only one-third the density, significantly reducing manufacturing costs and equipment weight.
2. Corrosion Resistance and Enhancement: The surface of Air Conditioning Aluminum Pipe can be treated with zinc spraying, anodizing, etc., to improve its corrosion resistance and adapt to general environments.
Applications of Air Conditioning Aluminum Pipe:
Air Conditioning Aluminum Pipe primarily serves as a refrigerant transport channel and heat exchange medium carrier. In air conditioning systems, it plays a core role in connecting indoor and outdoor units and participating in heat exchange. Specific applications include:
1. Indoor/Outdoor Unit Connection Piping: Air Conditioning Aluminum Pipe is used to connect the indoor and outdoor units, transporting liquid and gaseous refrigerants. Although traditionally copper pipes are commonly used, some models employ aluminum pipes or “copper-aluminum joints” to reduce cost and weight, requiring special processes to prevent leaks.
2. Core Component of Heat Exchangers: Air Conditioning Aluminum Pipe is widely used inside condensers and evaporators as the flow channel in microchannel heat exchangers (parallel flow heat exchangers). By increasing the number of pipes or designing an internal thread structure, the low thermal conductivity of aluminum is compensated for, achieving efficient heat exchange.
3. Automotive air conditioning system: Due to the extremely high demand for lightweighting, automotive air conditioning high-pressure pipes and heat exchangers are almost entirely made of aluminum pipes to reduce vehicle weight and improve fuel economy.
