Description

Anodized aluminum plate is an industrial material formed by electrolytic treatment of aluminum or aluminum alloy plates as the substrate in electrolytes such as sulfuric acid and chromic acid, using the latter as the anode.

The alumina film formed on the surface of the anodized aluminum plate consists of a porous outer layer and a dense barrier layer. The thickness of a typical oxide film is 5-20 micrometers, while a hard film can reach 60-200 micrometers.

Manufacturing process of Anodized Aluminum Plate:

The manufacturing process of anodized aluminum plate includes degreasing, oxidation, coloring, and sealing. Electrolytic coloring has become the mainstream process due to its cost advantage and weather resistance.

The porous structure of the oxide film on anodized aluminum plate can adsorb lubricants or dyes, and its corrosion resistance is significantly improved after sealing.

Anodized aluminum plate combines functionality (high temperature resistance, fire resistance, insulation) and aesthetics (metallic texture, customizable colors), supports bending and stamping processes, and is suitable for precision parts manufacturing and high-end decorative applications.

Anodized aluminum plates exhibit enhanced hardness and wear resistance, reaching 250–500 kg/mm², good heat resistance (hard anodized films have a melting point as high as 2320 K), excellent insulation (breakdown voltage up to 2000 V), and improved corrosion resistance (remaining uncorroded after thousands of hours in 0.03% NaCl salt spray).

The thin oxide film of anodized aluminum plates contains numerous micropores, which can adsorb various lubricants, making it suitable for manufacturing engine cylinders or other wear-resistant parts. The strong adsorption capacity of the micropores in the anodized aluminum plate film allows for coloring in various beautiful and vibrant colors. Non-ferrous metals or their alloys (such as aluminum, magnesium, and their alloys) can all undergo anodizing treatment.
