Description

Brass plate is an alloy of copper and zinc, available in thicknesses from 0.1mm to 60mm. Thinner pieces are like strips, while thicker pieces are sheets. Common grades and characteristics of brass plate:

1. H62: Contains approximately 62% copper, high strength, inexpensive, and widely used; suitable for nuts and washers.

2. H65: Performance between H68 and H62, suitable for hardware products and lighting fixtures.

3. H68: Excellent plasticity, suitable for deep drawing, used for cartridge cases and radiators.

4. H90: High copper content, golden yellow, often used for decorative items and medals.

Differences between Brass Plate and Pure Copper Plate:

Brass is a copper-zinc alloy, while pure copper is a single element with a very high copper content. They differ significantly in color, hardness, and uses.

1. Color: Pure copper has a purplish-red surface, hence the name “red copper”; brass is a bright golden yellow, with a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.

2. Hardness: Brass is hard and wear-resistant, suitable for valves, water pipes, and decorative items; pure copper is soft, has excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, and is mainly used for wires and cables.

3. Weight: Pure copper plate has a density of approximately 8.9, making it heavier; brass has a density of approximately 8.5, making it relatively lighter.
