Description
ASTM A192 Boiler Tube is a seamless carbon steel boiler tube for ASTM A192/ASME SA192 high-pressure equipment. ASTM A192 Boiler Tubes are mainly used in high-pressure equipment such as high-pressure boilers and superheaters to transport high-temperature and high-pressure steam or hot water. They play an important role in high-pressure steam systems in the power, petrochemical and other industries, and are one of the key components to ensure the energy conversion and transmission efficiency in the production process of these industries.
Dimensions of ASTM A192 Seamless Steel Tube
Outer diameter range of ASTM A192 Boiler Tube: usually 1/2 inch to 7 inches (12.7 to 177.8mm), but other sizes are also available as long as they meet other requirements of the standard.
Wall thickness range: minimum wall thickness is 0.085 inches to 1.000 inches (2.2 to 25.4mm), including boundary values.
Length requirements: can be provided according to single random length, double random length or actual customer requirements, the maximum length is generally 2-7m.
Chemical composition of ASTM A192 Boiler Tube:
The carbon content is between 0.06% and 0.18%. This low carbon content helps to improve the toughness and welding performance of the steel pipe, so that it can better adapt to the complex stress environment in high-pressure equipment.
The silicon content does not exceed 0.25%. Silicon mainly plays a deoxidizing role in steel, which can improve the strength and hardness of steel, and also helps to improve the corrosion resistance of steel.
The manganese content is 0.27%-0.63%. Manganese can enhance the strength and hardness of steel, refine the grains, and improve the wear resistance and fatigue resistance of steel pipes.
The high content of phosphorus and sulfur is limited to less than 0.035%. Strictly controlling the content of these two impurity elements can effectively avoid defects such as brittle fracture of steel pipes caused by excessive impurities, and ensure the quality and reliability of ASTM A192 Boiler Tubes.
Mechanical properties of ASTM A192 Boiler Tube:
Tensile strength: not less than 325MPa. The high tensile strength enables it to withstand the axial tension generated during the operation of high-pressure equipment, ensuring that the pipeline will not rupture under high pressure.
Yield strength: not less than 180MPa. The yield strength determines the deformation characteristics of the steel pipe under working pressure, ensuring that the steel pipe will only produce moderate plastic deformation when subjected to high pressure and maintain a stable structure.
Elongation: not less than 35%. Good elongation gives the steel pipe excellent toughness, so that it can buffer energy through its own deformation and avoid brittle fracture when it is subjected to impacts such as pressure fluctuations and water hammer.
Hardness: The hardness does not exceed 77HRB. The appropriate hardness range enables the steel pipe to have a certain strength while also having good processing performance, which is convenient for subsequent processing operations such as bending and flaring to meet the structural design requirements of different high-pressure equipment.
ASTM A192 Boiler Tube manufacturing process:
ASTM A192 Boiler Tube can be manufactured by hot working or cold working. The steel pipe after hot working does not need heat treatment, while the steel pipe after cold working needs to be heat treated at 1200°F (650°C) or higher temperature after final cold working to eliminate the internal stress generated by cold working, improve the organizational structure and mechanical properties of the steel pipe, and improve its toughness and fatigue resistance.
