Description

ASTM A106 Seamless Steel Tube is a seamless steel tube that complies with the American ASTM A106/ASME SA106 standard. It is primarily used for conveying high-temperature fluids such as water, oil, and gas, and is suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure industrial systems. ASTM A106 Seamless Steel Tube is available in three grades: A106 Grade A Seamless Steel Tube, A106 Grade B (Gr.B) Seamless Steel Tube, and A106 Grade C Seamless Steel Tube. A106 Grade A Seamless Steel Tube is preferred for cold roll forming.

ASTM A106 Seamless Steel Tube can be produced using two production processes: cold-drawn steel tube and hot-rolled steel pipes. These two processes differ significantly in terms of precision, surface quality, minimum dimensions, mechanical properties, and microstructure. ASTM A106 Seamless Steel Tube is widely used in the petroleum, chemical, boiler manufacturing, automotive, and aviation industries. Common specifications include Schedule 40 Steel Pipe, Schedule 80 Steel Pipe, Schedule 120 Steel Pipe, etc.

Applications of ASTM A106 Seamless Steel Tubes:

ASTM A106 Seamless Steel Tubes are primarily used for transporting fluids such as water, oil, and gas under high temperature and high pressure environments. Typical applications include oil and gas transportation, petrochemicals, thermal power plant boiler piping, and thermal systems.

1. Oil and Gas Industry: ASTM A106 Seamless Steel Tubes are used for fluid transportation in gathering and transmission pipelines, station process piping, and drilling and production equipment (temperature resistance up to approximately 425℃).

2. Petrochemical Industry: ASTM A106 Seamless Steel Tubes are suitable for transporting high-temperature and high-pressure media in reactor inlets and outlets, heating furnace pipelines, and hydrogenation units.

3. Power Industry: ASTM A106 Seamless Steel Tubes are used as piping for critical heating surfaces such as boiler superheaters, reheaters, main steam pipes, and economizers (A106B/C grade is common).

4. Heating and Thermal Engineering: Main pipelines for urban district heating systems and heat exchange systems.

5. Mechanical and structural support: Used in some applications such as high-pressure vessels, supports, and transmission components (but not the main structural steel; A106A is more suitable for cold bending).
