Galvanized Angle Steel Bar
Galvanized angle steel bars, commonly known as “angle iron”, are angle-shaped steel products treated with a zinc coating for corrosion resistance. They feature an L-shaped cross-section with two sides perpendicular to each other (at a 90-degree angle). The steel surface is covered with a zinc layer to prevent corrosion. Galvanized Angle Steel Bars are widely used in sectors such as power transmission towers, steel building structures, traffic safety barriers, curtain walls, shelving systems, and substation facilities.

Galvanized Angle Steel Bars are widely used in sectors such as power transmission towers, steel building structures, traffic safety barriers, curtain walls, shelving systems, and substation facilities.
Classification of Galvanized Angle Steel Bars:
Categorized by the galvanizing process:
1. Hot-dip galvanized angle steel: After rust removal, the angle steel bar is immersed in molten zinc at approximately 500°C. A metallurgical bond forms between the zinc layer and the steel. The coating thickness is typically 30–50 microns, offering strong corrosion resistance and high durability; it is suitable for highly corrosive environments and has a service life of 20–50 years.
2. Cold-galvanized angle steel: This method utilizes zinc-rich coatings that provide corrosion protection through electrochemical principles. Mechanical rust removal (such as sandblasting) is required on the steel surface prior to application. It is primarily used for repair projects and localized corrosion protection.
Based on shape, galvanized angle steel bars can also be classified into Equal Angle Steel Bar and Unequal Angle Steel Bar. The most common material used is Q235B or A36 carbon structural steel.
Applications of Galvanized Angle Steel Bars:
Galvanized angle steel bars have a wide range of applications, primarily in power transmission towers, communication towers, steel building structures, traffic safety barriers, curtain wall materials, shelving construction, street light poles, marine components, and substation auxiliary facilities.
1. Power and Telecommunications: Power transmission towers, communication towers, angle steel supports for substations, and cable trench supports represent the most typical applications; for instance, the framework of the Canton Tower utilizes this material.
2. Construction and Municipal Infrastructure: Steel-structured factory buildings, structural beams, stair handrails, balcony railings, curtain wall framing, and outdoor facilities such as street light poles.
3. Transportation infrastructure: High-zinc-layer galvanized angle steel bars are used for guardrails on expressways, railways, bridges, and tunnels, as well as in locations with stringent anti-corrosion requirements, such as subway stations.
