ASTM A572 Steel Plate is a high-strength, low-alloy niobium-vanadium structural steel plate, conforming to the ASTM A572/A572M standard. It is primarily used in building steel structures, construction machinery, mining machinery, heavy-duty trucks, bridges, pressure vessels, and shipbuilding.

ASTM A572 Steel Plate is available in five grades: Gr.42, Gr.50, Gr.55, Gr.60, and Gr.65, with ASTM A572 Gr.50 steel plate and ASTM A572 Gr.55 steel sheet being the most commonly used grades.

ASTM A572 Steel Plate typically ranges in thickness from 8mm to 80mm, with widths up to 3000mm and lengths up to 12000mm, meeting the needs of various engineering projects.

Thinner ASTM A572 Steel Plate (below 8mm) are mostly used for light-duty structures, while thicker plates (above 40mm) are suitable for heavy-duty load-bearing structures.

ASTM A572 Steel Plate is available in various tempers, including hot-rolled steel plate, controlled-rolled, and normalized, according to user requirements. It is worth noting that ASTM A572 steel plates with a thickness exceeding 40mm often require special controlled rolling and cooling processes or normalizing heat treatment to ensure the uniformity of their mechanical properties.
