Electro galvanized steel coil is a cold-rolled steel coil with a zinc coating applied through an electroplating process. It boasts excellent corrosion resistance and surface quality, and various grades such as DC06+ZE and SECC are widely available in the market.

Features of Electro galvanized Steel Coil:

1. Corrosion Resistance and Appearance: Electro galvanized steel coil deposits a zinc layer on the steel plate surface via electrolysis. The zinc layer is thin but uniformly distributed, resulting in a smooth, flat surface with consistent color and excellent rust resistance, effectively resisting corrosion from humid air.

2. Processing Adaptability: Electro galvanized steel coil retains the good processability of cold-rolled steel, facilitating cutting, bending, and welding. Some products undergo fingerprint-resistant treatment, making them suitable for precision machining where high surface quality is required.

3. Production Process: Electro galvanized steel coil production typically involves cold rolling, annealing, followed by surface cleaning and coating deposition in an electro-galvanizing unit. Delivery is primarily in coil form, but it can also be processed into steel plates and strips.

Applications of Electro Galvanized Steel Coil:

1. Core Applications: Primarily used in home appliance manufacturing (e.g., refrigerator and air conditioner housings, accounting for approximately 30%), the automotive industry (body parts, accounting for approximately 25%), and the construction sector (light steel keel, etc., accounting for approximately 45%).

2. Differences from Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel Coil: Electro Galvanized Steel Coil (SECC) has a uniform gray surface and a thin, smooth zinc layer, suitable for indoor appliances and computer cases; hot-dip galvanized steel sheet (SGCC) has a thicker zinc layer and stronger corrosion resistance, but the bent sections are prone to rust, and it is mostly used for outdoor construction and structural components.

3. Storage and Processing Precautions: Should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated indoor warehouse. Avoid open-air storage to prevent white rust. When stacking, use separating paper between layers to prevent scratches. Ventilation is required during welding to avoid inhaling zinc vapor.
