Hot-dip Galvanized Steel Wire
Hot-dip galvanized steel wire s a type of galvanized steel wire. Hot-dip galvanized steel wire is made from high-quality medium-carbon or high-carbon steel. It undergoes pickling, phosphating, and wire drawing, followed by a hot-dip galvanizing process. The coating thickness ranges from 45 to 300 microns. The zinc layer offers strong adhesion and long-lasting corrosion resistance, maintaining its rust-proof properties for decades in outdoor environments.
Description
Hot-dip galvanized steel wire s a type of galvanized steel wire. Hot-dip galvanized steel wire is made from high-quality medium-carbon or high-carbon steel. It undergoes pickling, phosphating, and wire drawing, followed by a hot-dip galvanizing process. The coating thickness ranges from 45 to 300 microns. The zinc layer offers strong adhesion and long-lasting corrosion resistance, maintaining its rust-proof properties for decades in outdoor environments.
Hot-dip galvanized steel wire is produced using two production processes: off-line annealing and on-line annealing. The resulting product boasts a smooth surface and high tensile strength (900-2200 MPa), toughness, and elasticity. However, it is expensive than electro galvanized steel wire.
Hot-dip galvanized steel wire is widely used in applications such as communication transmission lines and power cable armoring, subject to severe corrosion, as well as in the construction industry for greenhouse supports, highway guardrails, wire ropes, and spring components.
Compared to Electro Galvanized Steel Wire (a coating of 3-15 microns), hot-dip galvanizing produces a thicker coating that penetrates the substrate. While this process offers higher production costs, it also has a lower environmental impact, making it more suitable for protection against long-term exposure to harsh environments.
Features of Hot-dip Galvanized Steel Wire
1. High-Temperature Resistance
Hot-dip Galvanized Steel Wire is heat-resistant and can be used at higher temperatures. This also means that the steel wire has a long service life and does not lose its functionality due to high temperatures, making it suitable for a variety of environments.
2. High Strength
Hot-dip Galvanized Steel Wire is a high-strength metal material with high tensile strength. Its durability and stability have led to its widespread use in various construction and industrial applications. Hot-dip galvanized steel wire is used in various fields, including mineral mining, construction, and agricultural production.
3. Corrosion Resistance
Hot-dip Galvanized Steel Wire is corrosion-resistant and resists oxidation and corrosion caused by moisture. Therefore, it maintains its performance even in humid environments, ensuring a long service life and is well-suited to harsh weather such as marine environments.
4. Long Service Life
Hot-dip Galvanized Steel Wire’s excellent corrosion resistance, high-temperature resistance, and high strength ensure a long service life. Furthermore, it facilitates cutting and welding during construction, improving efficiency.
5. Convenient Construction
Hot-dip galvanized steel wire is easy to use and install, leading to its widespread application. Furthermore, hot-dip galvanized steel wire offers aesthetic and practical features, making it well-suited for architectural and industrial applications. It is also very easy to maintain.
In summary, hot-dip galvanized steel wire boasts high-temperature resistance, high tensile strength, corrosion resistance, long service life, and ease of construction. It is widely used in construction and industrial applications and is a high-performance steel wire.
