6061 T6 Aluminum Pipe
6061 T6 Aluminum Pipe is a heat-treatable strengthened aluminum alloy pipe based on aluminum-magnesium-silicon (Al-Mg-Si). After solution treatment and artificial aging (T6 temper), it possesses medium to high strength, good corrosion resistance, excellent weldability, and anodizing properties. It is commonly used in structural components, machining, and precision fluid transport.
Description
6061 T6 Aluminum Pipe is a heat-treatable strengthened alloy aluminum pipe based on aluminum-magnesium-silicon (Al-Mg-Si). After solution treatment and artificial aging (T6 temper). It can be divided into round aluminum tubes and square aluminum tubes, with 6061 large-diameter aluminum tubes being the most common.
Compared to 6063 T6 Aluminum Pipe, 6061 T6 Aluminum Pipe possesses medium to high strength, good corrosion resistance, excellent weldability, and anodizing properties, and is commonly used in structural components, machining, and precision fluid transport.
Characteristics of 6061 T6 Aluminum Pipe:
1. Chemical Composition: Si 0.4–0.8%, Mg 0.8–1.2%, Cu 0.15–0.4%, Cr 0.04–0.35%, with the balance being Al, forming the Mg₂Si strengthening phase.
2. Mechanical Properties: 6061 T6 Aluminum Pipe has a tensile strength ≥310 MPa, yield strength ≥276 MPa, elongation ≈12%, and Brinell hardness ≈95 HB (density approximately 2.7 g/cm³).
3. Processing and Forming: Extruded Aluminum Tube or cold-drawn precision tubes with good cutting, drilling, and bending properties; the T6 state has higher internal stress, so T651 (tensile straightening state) is recommended for complex precision machining.
Note: The actual performance of aluminum tubes is affected by the manufacturing process (extrusion/cold drawing/seamless). Cold-drawn precision tubes have higher dimensional accuracy and surface finish. If used for pressure-bearing or high-precision structures, it is recommended to confirm whether it is in the 6061 T651 Aluminum Pipe state to reduce processing deformation.

6061 T6 Aluminum Pipe is widely used in industrial fields requiring reliable structures and precision machining due to its moderate strength (tensile strength ≥310MPa), good corrosion resistance, weldability, and lightweight (density 2.7g/cm³).

2. Transportation: Truck/ship/rail vehicle components, automotive chassis/control arms, new energy battery trays (balancing lightweight and heat dissipation).
3. Machinery and Automation: 6061 T6 Aluminum Pipe for hydraulic cylinders, linear guide shafts, robot arms, CNC tooling fixtures, mold structural components.
4. Electronics and Heat Dissipation: 6061 T6 Aluminum Pipe for 5G base station heat sinks, drone frames, equipment housings (utilizing its thermal conductivity ≈167 W/(m·K)).
5. Precision and Custom Parts: Seamless/thin-walled 6061 T6 Aluminum Pipe for sensor housings, fluid conduits, aerospace fixtures, SMT carriers.
T6 condition (solution treatment + artificial aging) ensures high strength maintenance, but local softening may occur after welding, requiring careful process control; anodizing further improves appearance and corrosion resistance, suitable for outdoor or corrosive environments.
