Description

Aluminum Circle Discs are round aluminum sheets made of aluminum alloys (commonly 1-series, 3-series, 5-series, 6-series, etc.). They are lightweight (approximately 2.71 g/cm³), corrosion-resistant, have good electrical and thermal conductivity, and excellent formability and ductility. Suitable for deep processing such as stamping, stretching, and spinning, Aluminum Circle Discs are commonly used in kitchenware manufacturing, electronic heat dissipation, packaging containers, traffic signs, and industrial stamping parts.

Characteristics of Aluminum Circle Discs:

1. Lightweight and High Strength: Aluminum Circle Discs have a density of approximately 2.71 g/cm³ (only 1/3 that of steel). Strength can be increased through alloying (e.g., adding Mg, Mn, or Si), while 5-series and 6-series alloys offer a balance of hardness and toughness.

2. Excellent Formability: Especially 1-series (e.g., 1060, Al≥99.6%) and 3-series (e.g., 3003, rust-resistant aluminum) have high elongation in the O-state (annealed) state, making them suitable for deep drawing, kitchenware, battery casings, and other complex forming processes.

3. Excellent Corrosion Resistance: The natural oxide film on the surface provides basic protection, while 3-series (including Mn) and 5-series (including Mg) alloys further enhance resistance to corrosion in humid and chemical environments.

4. Highly Efficient Processing: Aluminum Circle Discs are typically produced from coils via fully automated blanking lines (diameter 10–3000 mm, thickness 0.3–6.0 mm), achieving a raw material utilization rate >80% and supporting rapid die changeovers (≤15 minutes).

5. Versatile Functions: Aluminum Circle Discs possess electrical conductivity (for electronic heat sinks, capacitor housings), thermal conductivity (for kitchenware, heat exchangers), and anodizable properties (for decorative/protective surfaces).

6. Two Manufacturing Processes: Cast-rolled Aluminum Circle Discs are low-cost and have a moderate surface finish, primarily used for general stamping; hot-rolled Aluminum Circle Discs offer superior mechanical properties and ductility, used in high-end applications such as aerospace and automotive.

Different alloy series exhibit significant performance differences: 1-series pure aluminum is soft and tough, 3-series is rust-resistant, 5-series is medium-strength and corrosion-resistant, and 6-series can be heat-treated for strengthening (e.g., 6061 used in molds). Selection must match the forming and service requirements.

Applications of Aluminum Circle Discs:

1. Cookware and Kitchenware: Aluminum Circle Discs are used in pressure cookers, rice cooker inner pots, non-stick pans, pie pans, etc., often made of 1050, 1060, or 3003 alloys, utilizing their good deep-drawing properties and thermal conductivity.

2. Food Packaging: Disposable aluminum foil pizza pans, barbecue trays, party plates, etc., are made using thin-gauge (0.3–1mm) aluminum circle discs through stamping, making them lightweight, non-toxic, and recyclable.

3. Electronic and Heat Dissipation Components: Aluminum Circle Discs are used as capacitor housings, LED lamp covers, and semiconductor heat dissipation substrates (some high thermal conductivity aluminum nitride ceramic discs are not metallic aluminum; careful distinction is needed). 3003 and 5052 alloys are common.

4. Traffic and Industrial Signage: Road signs, speed limit signs, garage signs, etc., made from 3003 or 5052 alloy aluminum discs through stamping with back reinforcement ribs, providing weather resistance and corrosion resistance.

5. Can Body and Cap Blanks: Can body/cap blanks for beverage cans and aerosol cans, deep-drawn from aluminum alloy discs such as 6061 and 5182;

6. Construction and Decoration: Roofing decorations, curtain wall accessories, lamp reflectors, some with anodized surface treatment;

7. Sacrificial Anodes (Special Disc Shape): Aluminum Circle Discs are used for cathodic protection in ships, pipelines, and storage tanks, but are “sacrificial anode components” rather than general-purpose aluminum discs;

8. Others: Cosmetic packaging boxes (powder compact trays), metal stamping parts, printing templates, laboratory glassware, etc.

9. Note: In the catering industry, “Aluminum Circle Disc” sometimes refers to a turntable (actually an aluminum alloy frame + glass tabletop), a furniture accessory; while in industrial contexts, it usually refers to flat aluminum discs/plates (10mm–3000mm in diameter), cut from coils. The names are similar but their uses are quite different.
