ASTM A1008 Steel Sheet is a general specification for cold-rolled carbon steel sheet and high-strength low-alloy steel (HSLA) in the United States. Common types include CS (structural steel), DDS (deep-drawing steel), EDDS (ultra-deep-drawing steel), and HSLAS (high-strength low-alloy steel).

ASTM A1008 Steel Sheet is not a single grade; it requires specific analysis in conjunction with the type (e.g., CS Type B, DDS) and strength grade (e.g., Grade 45/50).

Characteristics of ASTM A1008 Steel Sheet:

1. Chemical composition: Low carbon (typically ≤0.10% C), low manganese (≤0.60%).

2. Mechanical Properties: ASTM A1008 Steel Sheet yield strength 210–500 MPa (depending on type/grade, e.g., CS Type B ≈210–340 MPa, HSLAS Grade 50 ≥500 MPa), tensile strength 270–620 MPa, elongation 20%–50% (higher for deep-drawing types).

3. Processing Characteristics: ASTM A1008 Steel Sheet is cold-rolled, with a smooth surface, high dimensional accuracy (tolerance ±0.03mm), and excellent formability (especially DDS/EDDS types). It can be deep-drawn, bent, and stamped; it has good weldability, but higher strength requires controlled heat input during welding.

4. Surface Finishes: Commonly pickled (white/blue), oiled, or bare, without coating (distinguishing it from galvanized sheets such as AZ); optional finishing surfaces (such as FD) can improve appearance and coating adhesion.

Applications of ASTM A1008 Steel Sheet:

1. Automotive Manufacturing: ASTM A1008 Steel Sheet is used for body panels (inner and outer), chassis components, brackets, etc. (especially HSLAS-F, BHS, etc.), balancing lightweight and formability;
