ASTM A792 Aluzinc Galvalume Steel Coil is a 55% aluminum-zinc alloy hot-dip coated steel sheet manufactured according to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standard ASTM A792/A792M-25. It is widely used in construction, automotive, and home appliances.

Features of ASTM A792 Aluzinc Galvalume Steel Coil:

1. Excellent corrosion resistance: Aluminum forms a dense alumina film in the coating, effectively preventing further corrosion of the internal metal; even if the coating is damaged, zinc still provides sacrificial anodic protection.

2. Two coating types are available for ASTM A792 Aluzinc Galvalume Steel Coil:

– Type 1: Conventional formulation (55% Al, 1.6% Si, balance Zn), suitable for general corrosion-resistant applications. – Type 2: Contains added magnesium (55% Al, 2% Mg, 1.6% Si, balance Zn), resulting in higher hardness, superior corrosion resistance, and better mechanical properties, making it particularly suitable for harsh environments such as high humidity and coastal areas.

3. ASTM A792 Aluzinc Galvalume Steel Coil offers excellent machinability.

– Can be bent 180° (except for structural steel), and the coating is not easily peeled off.

– Possesses self-healing properties: After cutting or scratching, magnesium migrates to form a new protective film, delaying end-face corrosion.

4. Wide range of specifications and strength grades

– Thickness range: 0.27 mm – 9.00 mm; Width up to 580 mm – 1524 mm.

– Steel substrates include commercial steel (CS), deep-drawing steel (DS), formed steel (FS), high-temperature steel (HTS), and structural steel (SS), meeting various mechanical requirements.

5. High Heat Resistance and Cost-Effectiveness

Compared to pure galvanized steel sheet, it has stronger resistance to high-temperature oxidation; in some applications, it can replace stainless steel or aluminum, combining performance and economy.
