Description

Color Coated Steel Coil is a composite material, also called Prepainted Steel Coils. It is a product made from strip steel that has been continuously subjected to chemical transfer treatments such as surface degreasing and phosphating on the production line, and then coated with organic coatings and baked.

Color Coated Steel Coils have been widely used in the construction industry in recent years because of their good corrosion resistance, bright colors, beautiful appearance, easy processing and molding, the original strength of steel plates and low prices.

Classification of Color Coated Steel Coil:

1. Color coated steel coils are categorized by substrate type: hot-dip galvanized color-coated coils (PPGI), aluminized zinc color-coated coils (PPGL, with enhanced corrosion resistance), electro-galvanized color-coated coils, cold-rolled color-coated coils (the substrate has no coating, requiring coating protection), and aluminized color-coated coils (rare, used in high-temperature environments).

2. Color coated steel coils are categorized by coating type: polyester (PE, low cost, good color), silicone-modified polyester (SMP, moderate weather and abrasion resistance), high-weather-resistant polyester (HDP, 15-year durability guarantee), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF, fluorocarbon paint, 20-year weather resistance, anti-chalking, used in high-end construction); functional coatings such as antibacterial, self-cleaning, heat insulation, and antistatic coatings are also available.

3. Color Coated Steel Coil by Coating Structure (Number of Coats/Baking): 2/1 (2 coats on the front, 1 coat on the back, 2 baking cycles), 2/2 (2 coats on the front, 2 coats on the back, 2 baking cycles), 2/1M (2 coats on the front, 2 coats on the back, 1 baking cycle), 3/2 (three coats, two baking cycles), affecting corrosion resistance and formability.

4. Color Coated Steel Coil by Application: Exterior building (requiring high weather resistance such as PVDF/SMP), Interior building (PE optional), Appliance panels (requiring high formability and environmental friendliness), Industrial equipment/packaging/transportation (emphasizing impact resistance or lightweight).

5. Color Coated Steel Coil by Surface Finish: Plain coating, Embossed (wood grain/stone grain), Printed (pattern decoration), Laminated (such as PET film), Functional surface (scratch-resistant, self-cleaning).

Color Coated Steel Coils are lightweight, beautiful, have good anti-corrosion properties and can be processed directly. Colors generally include gray, sea blue, brick red, etc. Mainly used in advertising, construction, home appliances, electrical appliances, furniture, transportation and other fields.

The coating used for Color Coated Steel Coils should select appropriate resins according to different use environments, such as polyester silicon-modified polyester, polyvinyl chloride plastisol, polyvinylidene chloride, etc. Users can choose according to their uses.
