Galvalume Steel Coil
Galvalume steel coil, also known as Aluzinc Steel Coil, is composed of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon by weight.
Compared with galvanized steel coils of the same thickness, Galvalume Steel Coils containing 55% aluminum-zinc alloy coating have better corrosion resistance when exposed to the same environment on both sides. 55% aluminum-zinc alloy coated Galvalume Steel Coil not only has good corrosion resistance, but its color-coated steel coil products have excellent adhesion and flexibility.
Description
Galvalume steel coil, also known as Aluzinc Steel Coil, is composed of 55% aluminum, 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon by weight. The production process of Galvalume Steel Coil is similar to galvanized steel coils and aluminum-coated coils, both of which are continuous melt coating processes.
Compared with hot dip galvanized steel coils of the same thickness, Galvalume Steel Coils containing 55% aluminum-zinc alloy coating have better corrosion resistance when exposed to the same environment on both sides. 55% aluminum-zinc alloy coated Galvalume Steel Coil not only has good corrosion resistance, but its color-coated steel coil(PPGL) products have excellent adhesion and flexibility.

Features of Galvalume Steel Coil:
The features of galvalume steel coil include: strong corrosion resistance (approximately 3–6 times that of hot-dip galvanized steel), excellent heat reflectivity (approximately twice that of galvanized steel), good heat resistance (can withstand long-term high temperatures of 315°C), larger coverage area per unit weight (approximately 3% more than galvanized steel for the same weight and thickness), and a silvery-white metallic luster and good paint adhesion.
1. Strong corrosion resistance: Aluminum forms a dense alumina barrier, and zinc provides electrochemical protection, resulting in significantly better overall corrosion resistance than pure galvanized steel sheet, especially in atmospheric, industrial, and coastal environments.
2. High heat reflectivity: Surface reflectivity > 0.70, effectively reducing building heat gain, suitable for roofing and insulation materials.
3. Good high-temperature resistance: Long-term operating temperature can reach 315°C (galvanized steel is typically ≤230°C), without discoloration or peeling, suitable for components such as chimneys and ovens.
4. Superior Economic Efficiency: Because aluminum-zinc alloy has a lower density than pure zinc, it provides a larger coating area for the same weight; its total lifespan is lower, and although the unit price is higher than galvanized steel, its lifespan is longer.
5. Excellent Processing and Coating Suitability: It maintains similar formability (stamping, bending) to cold-rolled steel sheet, and its surface is easy to paint with strong adhesion (especially fingerprint-resistant types are even better after surface treatment).
Applications of Galvalume Steel Coil:
1. Construction: roofs, walls, garages, soundproof walls, pipes and prefabricated houses, etc.
2. Automotive: mufflers, exhaust pipes, wiper accessories, fuel tanks, truck boxes, etc.
3. Home appliances: refrigerator back panels, gas stoves, air conditioners, electronic microwave ovens, LCD display frames, CRT explosion-proof belts, LED backlights, electrical cabinets, etc. Agricultural uses: pig houses, chicken coops, granaries, greenhouse pipes, etc.
Others: Galvalume Steel Coil is also used in heat shields, heat exchangers, dryers, water heaters, etc.
