Corrosion Resistance Steel Plate, also known as Corten Steel Plate, Weathering Steel Plate, is a type of alloy steel plate that forms a relatively dense rust layer on its surface after years of outdoor exposure. This layer protects it from the elements and weather, making Corrosion Resistance Steel Plate more corrosion-resistant and weather-resistant than most carbon steel plates, thus eliminating the need for paint.

Notable examples include “Picasso in Chicago,” “Fulcrum,” “Angel of the North,” Manashe Kadishman’s “Suspended,” Robert Indiana’s Hebrew version of “LOVE,” and the public art piece “Lion Roaring.”

Corrosion Resistance Steel Plate is also used in architecture, construction, bridges, and other large structures, combining corrosion protection, structural support, and artistic value. Examples of buildings with a greater emphasis on artistic value include the John Deal World Headquarters, the first building to utilize Corrosion Resistance Steel Plate in 1964; the Australian Center for Contemporary Art; the Museum of Old and New Art in Tasmania; the Barclays Center; the main building of Odense University; the New River Gorge Bridge; the Newburgh–Beacon Bridge; and utility poles supporting overhead cables in Denmark.

However, there are also applications that prioritize functionality, such as sheet piling components on the UK’s M25 motorway.
In maritime transport, Corrosion Resistance Steel Plate is used to manufacture containers.
