Description

304 stainless steel sheet grades: 0Cr18Ni9 (0Cr19Ni9), 06Cr19Ni9, S30408. It can be divided into cold-rolled stainless steel sheet and hot-rolled stainless steel plate.
304 stainless steel sheet is widely used in household items (class 1 and 2 tableware), cabinets, indoor pipelines, water heaters, boilers, bathtubs, auto parts, medical equipment, building materials, chemicals, food industry, agriculture, and ship parts.

Features of 304 Stainless Steel Sheet:

1. Strong anti-rust performance. The anti-rust performance of 304 stainless steel plate is stronger than that of 200 series stainless steel materials, and can effectively resist corrosion from the atmosphere, fresh water, seawater and various chemicals.

2. High temperature resistance. 304 Stainless Steel Sheet has good high temperature resistance and can withstand a wide temperature range. The general use temperature limit is less than 650℃.

3. Excellent corrosion resistance. 304 Stainless Steel Sheet has strong corrosion resistance in nitric acid below the boiling temperature with a concentration of ≤65%, and also has good corrosion resistance to alkaline solutions and most organic and inorganic acids.

4. Good processing performance. 304 Stainless Steel Sheets can be formed by cold working, such as cutting, bending, deep drawing and welding, and has good processing performance.

5. High strength and high toughness. The protective effect of elements such as chromium and nickel contained in 304 stainless steel plate on the material makes it have high strength and high toughness.

Applications of 304 Stainless Steel Sheet:

1. Construction and Decoration: 304 Stainless Steel Sheet is used in elevator cars, handrails, curtain walls, stair treads (including anti-slip patterned sheets), and interior walls/ceilings. It is a preferred choice, especially in coastal or high-humidity environments, due to its strong weather resistance. Surface finishes include brushed, mirror, and sandblasting to enhance aesthetics and practicality.

2. Food Industry: As a “food-grade” material (compliant with GB/T 20878, ASTM A967, etc.), 304 Stainless Steel Sheet is widely used in food processing equipment (mixing tanks, conveyor belts, work surfaces), catering kitchenware (sinks, stoves, dishwashers), and storage tanks and pipelines in dairy/beverage/brewing production lines. This is due to its lack of heavy metal leaching, smooth and easy-to-clean surface, and resistance to weak acids and alkalis.

3. Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals: Used in non-implantable devices such as surgical instrument trays, medicine storage tanks, biosafety cabinet shells, and clean benches, capable of withstanding high-temperature and high-pressure sterilization. While 316L stainless steel sheet is preferred in highly corrosive environments (such as those containing chlorine disinfectants), 304 stainless steel sheet remains the mainstream choice for routine medical environments.

4. Chemical and Environmental Equipment: 304 stainless steel sheet is suitable for neutral or weakly corrosive media environments, such as sewage treatment tank linings, heat exchangers, steam pipe supports, laboratory fume hoods, and chemical storage cabinets (excluding strong acid and strong chlorine environments). It is not recommended for high-concentration chloride ions or strong oxidizing acids (such as concentrated sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid).

5. Household Appliances and Daily Necessities: 304 stainless steel sheet is commonly found in refrigerator panels, dishwasher liners, microwave oven cavities, electric kettles, coffee makers, range hoods, and high-end tableware (pots, pans, and bowls), offering a balance of high-temperature resistance, easy cleaning, and long lifespan.

6. Industrial Manufacturing and Machinery: 304 Stainless Steel Sheet is used for equipment housings, pressure vessels (non-high-pressure, high-corrosion applications), automotive parts (mufflers, wiper brackets), structural hardware, and general mechanical parts; cold-rolled sheets (0.3–6mm) are suitable for precision stamping, while hot-rolled sheets (3–200mm) are used for load-bearing structures.

7. Energy and Emerging Industries: 304 Stainless Steel Sheet is used for solar panel mounting systems, energy storage battery housings, etc., leveraging its resistance to atmospheric corrosion and recyclability; it also has basic structural or non-critical component applications in the nuclear energy, paper, and petroleum industries.
