Key features of Stainless Steel Sheet:
– Strong corrosion resistance: When the chromium content is ≥10.5%, a dense chromium oxide passivation film forms on the surface of the Stainless Steel Sheet, isolating it from corrosive media.
– Excellent mechanical properties: High plasticity, toughness, and mechanical strength; some grades of Stainless Steel Sheet (such as 304 and 316) can be used in a temperature range of -196℃ to 800℃.
– Easy processing and forming: Stainless steel sheet can be processed by cold rolling, hot rolling, laser cutting, bending, stamping, etc.
– Diverse surface treatments: Stainless steel sheet supports mirror finishing, wire drawing, sandblasting, etching, coloring, and other processes to meet decorative and functional requirements.
– Customizable antibacterial properties: By adding 1.5%–2.5% copper, an antibacterial rate of ≥99% against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus can be achieved, suitable for medical environments.
– Non-magnetic or weakly magnetic: Austenitic stainless steel (such as 304, 316) is generally non-magnetic, but may become slightly magnetic after cold working.
Applications of Stainless Steel Sheet:
– Architectural decoration: Elevator cars, handrails, curtain walls, signs, interior wall surfaces (commonly 304 Stainless Steel Sheet, 201 Stainless Steel Plate, often with brushed or mirror finish).
– Food and medical equipment: Kitchen utensils, tableware, surgical instruments, hospital countertops (requiring high hygiene standards, commonly 304 Stainless Steel Plate, 316L Stainless Steel Sheet, or antibacterial stainless steel).
– Chemical and energy: Reactors, pipelines, heat exchangers, pressure vessels (requiring resistance to acid and alkali corrosion, commonly 316L, duplex stainless steel). – Home Appliances and Electronics: Refrigerator and washing machine casings, mobile phone frames, precision parts (utilizing their corrosion resistance and aesthetics).
– Transportation: Automotive exhaust pipes, trim strips, marine components (some using heat-resistant stainless steels such as 409 and 436L).
– Emerging Fields: Liquid hydrogen/liquid helium storage tanks (using S31603 (JLH) cryogenic stainless steel), nuclear power equipment, hydrogen energy devices.
